VPI provides software tools and consulting services to achieve higher asset utilization and support efficient network infrastructure planning processes.

The major product focus is on wireline telecommunications technologies, covering WDM, SONET/SDH, switch, SS7, IP/MPLS, ATM and broadband access networks. VPI developed the first commercial design tools for WDM systems, the first optimisation tools for Wavelength Routing and Assignment (WRA) in optical mesh networks, the first commercial optical span engineering tools and the first collaborative software platform for network planners. VPI products and services have been recognized with an Engineering Excellence Award from the Optical Society of America, and a vendor excellence award from Sprint ATL.

VPI is pleased to serve 150 corporations, including MCI, AT&T Wireless, Batelco, BT, Deutsche Telekom , Korea Telecom, NTT, Swisscom, Telekom Malaysia and Tyco Telecommunications; and optical equipment vendors like Alcatel, Ciena, Cisco, Ericsson, Fujitsu, Lucent, Nortel, and Siemens. The company has business partner relationships with CITEX in Saudi Arabia.
